Hair Transplantation: Court recognizes "Health Center 4" guilty of misleading patients and misconduct
Riga City Court has completed the case against the medical center "Health Center 4" for misleading hair transplant patients, misconduct, and unlawful use of the protected hair transplant product brand Rubenhair.
This brand is operated by Rubenhair Hair Clinic, established in 2013.

The "Health Center 4" medical center registered the internet domain www.rubenhair.lv in 2022, which, when opened, displayed the "Health Center 4" website and offered hair transplantation services identical to those offered by the Rubenhair Hair Transplant and Treatment Clinic over the 11 years since 2013. Several complaints have been received about poorly performed hair transplants at the "Health Center 4" medical center. The main criterion for the quality of hair transplantation is a surgeon's ISHRS certification (International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery, located in the USA).
The court ruling specifies the deletion from the registry and cessation of the "Health Center 4" medical center's use of unlawfully used protected hair transplantation Rubenhair brand, as well as discontinuation of misleading hair transplantation patients at the VC4 clinic by posing as a company which it is not in reality.
The largest owner of the "Health Center 4" medical center, Māris Rēvalds, together with former Latvian Minister of Health Ivars Eglītis, owns a joint private company "Vizuālā diagnostika" SIA. Ivars Eglītis served as the Minister of Health of Latvia from 2007 to 2009. This company, registered in 2006, offers state-funded diagnostic examinations and has established private branches in state hospitals. The turnover of "Vizuālā diagnostika" SIA in 2022 is EUR 7.5 million and the profit after tax calculation is EUR 2.1 million. The company's turnover in 2021 was EUR 7.7 million, with a profit after tax payment of EUR 1.8 million.
Effective utilization of healthcare system resources requires changes. It is the task of state leaders to ensure the most efficient and rational use of state budget funds in providing healthcare services, as well as to prevent conflicts of interest and corruption risks.
